Reiki  - The Usui System of Natural Healing

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a system of universal healing which is available to all.  Reiki is a Japanese word that is often translated as “Universal Life force Energy” - REI is the universal energy that is all around us and KI is the vital energy that flows in us and through all living beings.

What can it do for you?

Aids your body with it's own natural healing abilities

Enhances personal awareness

Reiki is a safe, gentle, non intrusive hands-on healing technique for use on yourself or with others, which uses spiritual energy to treat physical ailments without using pressure, manipulation or massage. However, it is much more than a physical therapy. It is a holistic system for balancing, healing and harmonising all aspects of the person – body, mind, emotions and spirit, it can also be used to encourage personal and spiritual awareness and growth.

This information has been taken from the Book “Reiki for Life” by Penelope Quest.

What can I expect from a Reiki session?

A traditional Usui Reiki treatment uses the light touch of the practitioner’s hands to specific areas of the recipient’s body. Should the patient prefer, healing may be given just above the body without actual physical contact.

It requires no more than the recipient wearing comfortable clothes, and it can be done on a chair or a couch. During a treatment you will generally feel a pleasant sensation of warmth or a gentle tingling sensation in the area being treated.
